Obituary for Colleen Overmere (Fitzsimmons)
Parlin
Colleen Overmere, age 49, of the Madison Park section of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, with her loving husband, mother, brother and family at her side. Born in Newark she resided in Madison Park for the past 45 years. Colleen was a communicant of Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin, and had attended Middlesex County College, in Edison.
She is predeceased by her father, John “Jack” Fitzsimmons, in 2003. Surviving is her husband of 17 years Emil Overmere, her son, Foster Overmere, at home, her mother Mary LeMehaute Fitzsimmons of Parlin, her brother John “Jack” Fitzsimmons and his wife, Diane, of Mesa, Az., and her service dog Priscilla who she adored.
Funeral services will be held Friday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, followed by a 9:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church in Parlin with private cremation to follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. Letters of condolence, directions and complete arrangements can be found at spezzifuneralhome.com.
