Sayreville
John Tarnacki, age 91, of Sayreville passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 at Venetian Care and Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy with his loving and devoted family at his side. Born in Jersey City, he had resided in South River before moving to Sayreville 59 years ago. Before his retirement he was employed by Hercules for over 40 years. Mr. Tarnacki proudly served his country during World War II on the USS Gillette DE681 as part of the U.S. Navy and was a member of Sayreville Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 4699. John was a communicate of Saint Stanislaus Kostka R.C. Church in Sayreville, a member of the Sayreville Seniors Citizens Tuesday Club, Sayreville St Stan’s Seniors and Holy Name Society.

He is predeceased by his parents John and Eleanor Tarnacki and grandson Luke Tarnacki. Surviving are his wife of 65 years the former Florence Kuczynski, his sons and daughter-in-law’s Thomas and Andrea Tarnacki of Mississippi, Lawrence and Patti Tarnacki of New York and John R. Tarnacki of Virginia, his grandchildren Nicole, Erica, John, Troy, Erik and Emily, his great grandchildren Ava, Logan, Noah, Luke and Kayla.

Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday February 4, 2016 at the St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 225 MacArthur Ave., Sayreville with a burial to follow at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery.

Calling hours at Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main St Sayreville, NJ will be held Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers Donations may be made in John’s name to the Saint Stanislaus Holy Name Society
