Obituary for Roger J. "Jimmy" Wimmer
Old Bridge
Roger J. “Jimmy” Wimmer, age 82, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Paterson, he had resided in Old Bridge for the past 53 years. Before his retirement he was employed as a local truck driver with Interstate Trucking in Avenel and later worked with Mazer & Associates in Matawan. Mr. Wimmer was also an Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean War. When he was not spending time with his family, Roger enjoyed playing golf and riding his bicycle, & walking every day.
Roger is predeceased by his parents Roger & Edith Wimmer. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years Agnes (Ferrary) of Parlin; his 5 children and their spouses Kathleen & Thomas Gerity of Clifford Beach, Maureen & Mark Burns of Egg Harbor Township, Robert & Anne Wimmer of Florida, Kevin Wimmer of Sayreville, and Patricia & Michael Cavallo of Jackson; his brother John Wimmer of Florida; and his 8 loving grandchildren Bryan & Connor Gerity, Mark & Marli Burns, Patrick & Erin Wimmer, and Matthew & Kaylee Cavallo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:30am service at St. Bernadette’s RC Church. A private cremation will follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Roger’s name to the Sayreville Brain Injured Children, 251 Jernee Mill Rd. Sayreville, NJ 08872. Letters of condolence, directions and completed arrangements can be found at www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
