Obituary for Stella Laptosh

Stella   Laptosh
Stella Laptosh, age 90, of South River, passed away Thursday, September 15, at The Elms of Cranbury in Cranbury, NJ. Born and raised in South River, Stella was an active member of Saints Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church.

Stella is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Anna Kanaovich, and her loving husband of 60 years, Alexander. Surviving is her sister Lydia Krug and her sons Gary Laptosh and Wayne Laptosh. Also surviving are her nephew, William Laptosh, and her nieces: Dawn Adams, Debbie Stahl, Suzanne Laptosh, and Joanne Knoblock. She is also survived by many loving great-nephews and nieces.

Stella also leaves behind many dear friends whom she loved as family, including Veronica, Juan, Ann, Irene, Sandra, and Chris who cared and loved her when she needed it most. She loved her neighborhood 'down the alley' and cherished the many neighbors and their children whom she regarded as her own children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:30 am, at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, New Jersey, and 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, South River, followed by a burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery, South River.

Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be held Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm with a Panahida service at 2:00 pm with a Remembrance Service immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church.
