Obituary for Joanne Jones

Joanne Jones
Joanne Marie Jones found love, laughter, and joy by sprinkling smiles and spoiling her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her generosity with children kept her young and taught them lessons of the sweetness in the world, as well as imparting experiences and culture from their infancy through adolescence. It is with heavy heart that we share news of Joanne’s passing, age 64, on Monday, November 28, 2016 at her home in Marietta, Georgia after a battle of many years.

Born in Perth Amboy, to her parents, Edward and Ceceilia Jones, predeceased, Joanne was the oldest of four children. After attending South River High School, Class of 1970, she graduated from Salem College in Salem West Virginia and spent a career working for the United States Postal Service in various roles, before retiring in 2002. Her desire to give back and her love of children culminated in many years of service in the Central Jersey Jaycee’s and serving on the Executive Board of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminars. Her creativity materialized in countless hours spent crafting, from crocheting, to handmade holiday gifts, allowing her love for others to manifest itself in physical form.

Joanne moved to Georgia in 2006, following the warmth and love of relatives. She leaves behind her brothers Frank and his wife Donna (Dunn) Jones, Lee, and his wife Janice (Spiecker) Jones, Adrian and his wife Saundra (Hatfield) Jones, nieces and nephews Rebecca Baker, Amy Zehnder, Ryan Jones, Christine Hamarich, Lee Jones, Jr., and Sydney Jones; Cousins Leonard and Elaine (Salerno) Kowalewski, Charles and Barbara (Constance) Gordon, Stephen and Jean (Archambault) Vladyka, Charles and Joan (Archambault) Lacroix, Vincent and Leona (Archambault) Pippo, Barbara Jones, Robert and Alice Jones, Tim and Linda (Jones) Barrett, Daniel and Lisa (Jones) Minor, Daniel and Jan Seabury, David and Mary Beth Seabury, Richard and Lori Seabury and many extended family members.
