Trudy Kelly, age 69 of Parlin, passed away Saturday, December 10, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Greenwich Village , New York City, Trudy had lived in Parlin for the past 48 years. Nanny Trudy was the true definition of love. She dedicated her life to the love of family, friends and community. She owned and operated Trudy’s Travel for many years. Trudy was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville, a member of the OLV Seniors, and was a former CCD teacher. She was a past President of the Our Lady of Victories School PTA, and poured hours of endless time, love and help into growing Garden Friends Early Learning Center and nurturing all of its little friends.
She is predeceased by her parents James and Gertrude Fairclough, and by her beloved son John M. Kelly III.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, John, her children Jim and his wife Marsha, Terri and her husband Paul DuChemin, her cherished grandchildren Meaghan, Elizabeth and Caroline Kelly, Kelly Conan John DuChemin, Cynthia Erickson, Lance and Joseph DuChemin, Goddaughter Susie and her husband Kevin Ortenzio, great-grandson Jarvis Erickson, and countless other family members and friends whose lives she has touched.
Funeral services will be Thursday 9am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with an 10am mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday 3pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
