Helen Tsamisis Delaney, age 90 formerly of Parlin, passed away Thursday February 16, 2017 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Parlin for over 55 years, before moving to North Carolina 5 years ago. Before her retirement, Helen was a receptionist at St. Mary’s RC Church in South Amboy for 25 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Bertram in 1985, her brother James Tsamisis, her sisters Katherine and Anna Tsamisis and her son in law John Norek.
Surviving are her children Karen Norek, Paul & Linda Delaney, Lawrence & Lisa Coleman Delaney, Marianne & Rick Plesher, Helen & Nick Gargalidis, her grandchildren Sean, Aubrey Ann, Brendan, Kyle, Kelly, Paul, Lawrence, Ryan, Casey, Corey, Ourania and her great-grandchildren Emmett, Owen, Ainsley, Jack, Liam, Delaney, Savanna, Sophia and William.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 8:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with a 10am funeral service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Jersey City. Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 6pm to 9pm.
