Dora McLellan Cox, 91, of South River, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2017, at her home. Born in Boston, MA, she resided in South River for most of her life. Dora was active in the Sunshine Circle at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, as well as the Aldersgate bazaar workshop. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and collecting Hummel figurines. She traveled with her husband to many places around the world but held a special place in her heart for the island of Aruba. Dora was a devoted wife, and a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Charles, her parents Malcolm and Ronaldsa McLellan, her brother Malcolm McLellan, Jr., her loving children Christine and Audrey, and her adored grandson Dhruv Arora. Surviving are her children and spouses: Marjorie and Roland Ladd, Charles, Jr. and Marielise Cox, Marilyn and Tarun Arora, David and Maureen Cox, Phillip and Laura Cox, and Mychal and Scott Loney. Dora was the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law June and Alexander Visser, and her sister-in-law Mary McLellan, along with many devoted nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River, NJ 08882, will be held on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 AM at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 568 Ryders Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton Centre, MA 02459, (617) 332-0047.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations in Dora’s name be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
