James D. Branagan age 70 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Saint Peters University Hospital, New Brunswick with his loving and devoted family at his side. Born in Bayonne he has resided in Sayreville for the past 44 years. Before his retirement in 2005 he was employed for William’s Company formally TRANSCO Pipeline as a pipe line engineer. Mr. Branagan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.

He is predeceased by his parents James & Helen Branagan. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Helene Rec Branagan, his children and their spouses, Jason & Soo Branagan of Parlin and Beth & James McKay of Sayreville, his four granddaughters Megan, Riley & Katie McKay and Samantha Branagan, and his siblings and their spouses Robert & Barbara Branagan and Maureen & Vincent Lombardo.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 4pm to 8pm with a 6:30pm funeral service and private cremation to follow. the family has requested that donations in James name be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, Tennessee 38105
