Obituary for Kathleen R. Campbell (Janas)

Kathleen R. Campbell (Janas)
Kathleen Campbell (née Janas), 69, went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2017, with her loving family by her side at home in Cape Coral, FL after a year long brave struggle with cancer.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jack Campbell; her five children, Charles Campbell of Nashville, TN, Christopher Campbell of Fort Myers, FL, Katy Reiser of Glassboro, NJ, Kara Campbell of Long Island, NY and Kim Campbell of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Fiona, Liam, Rekha, Kaylee, Charles, Lucas, Cora and Lorelei; her two brothers Bob and Ted Janas; her extended family includes loving brothers and sisters-in-law: Constance Tichenor, Bruce Tichenor, Lynn Spieker, Bill Spieker, Jean Janas; daughter-in-laws, Vanessa Campbell and Sarah Campbell; son-in-laws, Ken Bradley and John Reiser; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Kathy is predeceased by her loving parents Theodore and Rose Janas.

Early in her career, Kathy taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade at Saint Joseph Regional Catholic School in Somers Point, NJ after receiving a degree at Marymount College.

One of Kathy’s greatest joys was being a mother, a job she was deeply devoted to, relishing the time she had with her children, even while helping out with the family business Cam-Tel Video for many years.

When Jack and Kathy semi-retired to Florida in 2000, Kathy continued to work at Cam-Bel Media. She also remained active in her community by volunteering as a Sunday school teacher at St. Leo’s Parish in Bonita Springs, Florida. She met many dear friends through her women’s Bible study group, the Glories. A hobby Kathy was very passionate about was boating, fishing, and netting. Some of her favorite memories were of her time with her husband Captain Jack out on Estero Bay on their dolphin watch touring boat, just floating around the mangroves and enjoying the gulf coast views.

Kathy was known for her strong values and Catholic faith. She truly embodied the qualities that Christianity espouses. All who knew her loved her and felt her support. She was full of empathy, unconditional love and kind gestures. Most of all, she was a good listener whose quick sense of humor could bring delight to any discussion. She was patient with children and loved their antics. She was a great hostess, and could make any visitor eat and feel welcome. A loving family member, an active participant in her community, a hard worker, a giving mother, grandmother, aunt, and a true friend, Kathy will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service open to all will be held on 7:30 PM, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, N.J. 08859.
