Betty C. Harris, age 70, of Sayreville passed away on April 13, 2017. A native of Micaville, North Carolina, she moved to New York City in the early 1970s. She insisted on living life out loud. She enjoyed spending time with friends and sharing her love of music with everyone Prior to retirement, she worked in accounting and finance for many years. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Tim Pankewicz; a son, Seth Harris and wife, Janet, and four grandchildren of New Jersey. She is also survived by her siblings and their families in North Carolina: a sister, Karen Shaw, and a brother, Keith Harris and wife, Lavonne, along with nieces; April Owenby (Chuck) and Beth Greene (Terry) and nephew; Gareth Shaw and three grand nieces. Also, survived by her mother-in-law, Marianne Pankewicz of Jersey City.

She was predeceased by her parents, Cecil and Paulette Harris.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions in her memory be given to Husky House, Matawan, NJ where she rescued her beloved dogs.
