Joseph J  Brocato
Joseph J. Brocato, age 89 of South Amboy passed away on Sunday, May 7th 2017 at Brandywine Living in Englishtown. Born in Baltimore, MD he had moved to New Jersey almost 50 years ago. Before his retirement he was employed as a Manager in the Purchasing Department for DuPont in Newark for 30 years. He was a US Navy Veteran, a communicant of St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin, a member of the Sayreville VFW post 4699 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8478. Joseph was an avid golfer, he loved to travel and will be remembered most for his extremely outgoing and loving personality.

He is predeceased by his first wife Shirley, his second wife Catherine and his son Thomas W. Surviving are his daughter Beth Ann Stanke of Spring Hill, FL, his step-children Linda Wisniewski of Glen Gardner, Laura LoPresti of Monroe, Maureen Mifsud of Monroe, Diane Rooney of NYC and Scott Rooney of Sayreville, his grandchildren Jennifer, Timothy, George Jr., Michele, Patrick, Meghan, Kyle, Leah and Veronica, his great-grandchildren Autumn, Daniel, Scarlett, Emery, Jaxson, Kayden, Alex and Casey, his sister Frances Selway and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am Mass at St Bernadette RC Church in Parlin. Burial will take place Friday, at a time to be announced, at Springfield Cemetery in Sykesville, Maryland.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Joseph’s name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
