Obituary for Joan Ann Stoddard
Sayreville
Joan Ann Stoddard, age 68 of Sayreville, passed away on Sunday May 14, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Amboy, she has resided in Sayreville for the past 38 years. Before her retirement 15 years ago Mrs. Stoddard was employed with Verizon Communications in Freehold for over 35 years as a drafting agent. Joan was very active with Our Lady of Victories RC Church having sung in the church choir, and being a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry as well as the OLV Senior Club.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband John Stoddard and her parents Albert & Pauline Parks. Joan is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Lisa & Christopher Michallis of Pt. Pleasant, her beloved grandchildren Matthew & Kayla Michallis; as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. A private cremation will follow. Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Thursday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. Burial will then occur on Thursday, May 25 at the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the OLV School Endowment Fund, 36 Main St. Sayreville, NJ 08872 or the Sayreville First Aid Squad, www.sayrevilleems.com/donations.
