Obituary for Mary H. Wolfe

Mary H. Wolfe
Sayreville
Mary H. (Miller) Wolfe, age 93, passed away peacefully at home in Sayreville on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Mary was born September 5, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to Albert J. Miller and Helen (Paige) Miller. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold A. Wolfe, who she married in 1946. She lived in Old Bridge and then for the past 65 years in Sayreville in a house built by her late husband.
Mary touched countless lives as a wife, mother, aunt, mentor, and friend. She was known as Aunt Mary to her large extended family and their friends and her home in Sayreville was always open as a refuge for family and friends who found themselves in difficult situations. She was compassionate and had a deeply caring temperament that allowed her to give heartfelt and levelheaded advice and counsel to family and friends who were experiencing adversity and personal struggles. Mary was a natural conversationalist and loved to talk about current events and politics. She had near-total recall of her family’s history and events that occurred in her youth in Brooklyn.
Mary is survived by her son, Kevin M. Wolfe (Betsy) of Ewing, NJ, son, Dennis H. Wolfe, and daughter, Kathleen M. Wolfe, both of Sayreville, grandchildren Timothy (Therese), Dennis (Naura), Daniel and Erin and great grandchildren, Lucy, Delaney and Henry. Also surviving her are brothers Robert Miller and Michael Miller and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as David Boehm (Joan) of Martinsville, NJ, who she thought of as her third son. She will be missed by three generations of family and her many, many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday 9am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville with a 9:30am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery on Washington Road, Sayreville.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Mary’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
