Chief, Pop Pop, This past Thursday, I lost the best person I had ever known, my father-in-law. He was a father figure to me as I had lost my own father a little while after my second birthday. My father-in-law was one of the best! He was strong, smart and very wise. And he was brave. Even after being diagnosed five years ago, he was not afraid. It never changed who he was or ever got him down. And he stayed brave and strong right up until the very end. Don was a simple man, he was a thinker, an inventor, and above all, he was a family man. And he was the handiest man I had ever known. There was nothing he could not do. His life wasn't always an easy one, but he made sure that his wife and family were always provided for. I never told him how much I thought of him or how I couldn't love him more if he were my own father, but I'm sure he knew. I have been so blessed to have had him as the grandfather of my children. I'm sure he is still with us, watching over all of us. He did not go alone, for part of all of us went with him. We will all miss him and he will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Chief, Pop Pop, Dad
