Parlin
William J. Murphy, Jr., age 81 of the Parlin section of Sayreville, passed away on Thursday September 14, 2017 at The Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center in South Amboy surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in New York City, William moved to Parlin over 30 years ago. He proudly graduated from Fordham University in 1965 with a BS in Accounting. Before his retirement in 2000, Bill worked as Contract Manager for AT&T in Summit for 46 years. He was a member of the Sayreville Seniors Tuesday Club and loved world travel, having visited 6 of 7 continents.

William is predeceased by his parents William Sr. & Katherine Murphy and his brother Donald J. Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years Margaret Jane (Broderick) of Parlin; his loving children and their spouses William J., III & Sally Ruth of Burke, VA, Michael B. & Christine of Dallas, TX, Kevin F. of Parlin, Brian P. & Carol of West Orange, John B. & Pamela of Lawrenceville, and Thomas D. & Jeannay of CT; well as 10 adoring grandchildren William IV, Ryan, Michael, Sarah Jane, Matthew, Gordon, Emma, Jack, Owen, & Alexandra.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 11am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in So. Brunswick. Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Monday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm.
