Obituary for Carlos Gonzalez

Parlin
Carlos Gonzalez, age 76 of Parlin, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 22, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Columbia, he had lived in Staten Island where he graduated from Tottenville High School and Staten Island Junior College before moving to Parlin 40 years ago. Carlos served his country with the Army National Guard. He worked as a hairdresser for many years with his beloved wife Marguerite who were the owners and operators of Innovators Hair Salon in Parlin for 42 years. He was an avid Yankee Fan and loved going on trips to NYC to see shows and Atlantic City. Carlos was known for his generous spirit and could always be found helping his family and friends. He was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin.
He is predeceased by his parents Julio Gonzalez & Isabel Rozo and his brother Edward Rozo.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, the former Marguerite Gallagher, his brothers Al Gonzalez and his wife Michelle, Billy Rozo and his wife Deidre, his stepfather Frank Rozo, his brother in law Dennis Gallagher and his wife Beth, his nieces and nephews, Michael, Matthew, Frank, Kiara, Allison, Nicole, Erin, his great nieces and nephews Stephen, James, Liam, & Camilla and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with be Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 9am from the funeral home followed by a 9:30am mass at Saint Bernadette’s R. C. Church with private cremation will follow.
