Obituary for Patrick J. "Pat" Gilgan

Sayreville
Patrick J. “Pat” Gilgan, age 53, of Sayreville, passed away Monday October 9, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Gutenberg before moving to Sayreville 21 years ago. Pat graduated from North Bergen High School and attended Jersey City State College before taking an internship with Johnson & Johnson, where he wound up working as a Technology Manager for the past 30 years. Pat was a lover of fishing, collected coins and antiques, and was an avid Notre Dame fan. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Patrick is predeceased by his parents Patrick & Mary (Doherty) Gilgan.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 21 years, Mary Ellen Gilgan of Sayreville; his loving children Colleen and Liam of Sayreville; his sisters and their husbands Joanne & Robert Consoli of Brick and Mary Ellen & Mike DeBiase of Denville; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews & dear friends.
Funeral services will take place Friday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. A private cremation will follow.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm & 7pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s name to the Lustgarten Foundation at www.lustgarten.org/donate.
