Mrs. Neigel was a truly wonderful person. Her son Dave is married to my mother’s sister, Bridget. When I was growing up, I would often see Mrs. Neigel at my Uncle Dave and Aunt Bridget’s house during the holiday season or other family gatherings, and she was always so kind, with a warm and generous heart. I have many childhood memories of how Mrs. Neigel always remembered my birthday with a toy or other gift. I’ll never forget one particular year -- I believe I was 12 years old -- and how happy I was when she gave me a sports card album full of football cards. Even into my adulthood, she continued to remember me every year with a thoughtful birthday card, right up until my most recent birthday, this March. I always looked forward to receiving them from her. She was very special to me and I will certainly miss her. I offer my condolences to my Uncle Dave, his brother Chris, his sisters Cathy and Madeline, and all Mrs. Neigel’s grandchildren. Rest in peace Mrs. Neigel. - David Pecaro

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend Mrs. Neigel’s services, because I have to return to school in Massachusetts this weekend. Mrs. Neigel was one of the nicest people I have ever known. As a little girl, I remember admiring how she collected so many different salt and pepper shakers. My mother and I found a King Kong and Empire State Building set for Mrs. Neigel one Christmas and she was so surprised when she opened the gift. She was an incredibly kind and thoughtful person and I can remember my favorite birthday gift from her, when I was a child. It was a necklace that had a little Dalmatian puppy pendant. She knew I loved “101 Dalmatians”, but I don’t know how she found me a present that was so unique. When my grandmother, Dolly, passed away in 2011, Mrs. Neigel sent me the nicest letter explaining how she still missed her husband Bill, but that she knew he was still with her, the same way my grandmother would still always be with me. I loved speaking with Mrs. Neigel, whether it was at my Aunt Bridget and Uncle Dave’s house, at my cousin Dean’s graduation party, or even over the phone during her 90th birthday party this year. It was always an interesting and pleasant conversation. She was never one to forget anyone or anything and never missed acknowledging my birthday with a special card. God bless you, Mrs. Neigel. I will miss you. Please say hello to my Nonni and Poppy for me. -LisaMichelle Pecaro
