Monroe
Armando Alves, age 84 of Monroe, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Portugal, he had lived in Monroe for many years. Before his retirement, Armando worked as a laborer for Peter Ferro Construction in South River for many years. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi RC Church in South River.
He is predeceased by his parents Americo Ferreira Alves and Anunciacao de Jesus Semiao and his siblings Jose Maria Alves and Rosa Ferreira.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years Maria Otelinda das Neves, his children Maria Ercilia Teco, Rosa Hernandez, Maria Christina Mulroney, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and his sisters Clotilde Padinha, Maria Matos, Auzenda Cruz.
Burial will take place at Gafanha Da Boa Hora Cemetery in Portugal.
