Frank Makransky, age 81 of Winter Springs, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at The Life Care Center, Altamonte Springs, Florida. Born in Rahway, NJ, Frank resided in the Parlin section of Sayreville for most of his adult life, only moving to Central Florida a few years ago. Mr. Makransky was a communicant of Sacred Heart R.C Church in South Amboy. Frank was a Councilman in the Borough of Sayreville for several terms, beginning in 1990 and serving as council president for several years during his numerous terms in office. Frank served his beloved town for more than ten years overall and was on numerous committees that helped shape the town as we know it today. He was a member and one time treasurer of the Morgan Lions Club, a member of Sacred Heart Holy Name and past President of the local chapter of the Polish National Alliance. He was a fixture as one of the end caps on the “Chain Gang” at Bomber home football games during the late 80’s and early 90’s and before that was involved in Cub Scouts and even coached Little League with his children. Frank loved horse racing and was an avid Yankee, Giants and NY Rangers fan.

Frank is predeceased by his siblings Joseph and Robert Makransky.Surviving are his loving wife of over 58 years Helena, his children Thomas Makransky, Michael and his wife Victoria Makransky, James and his wife Monica Makransky and Karen and her husband Jason Hart, his grandchildren Paul, Matthew, Alexander, Gabriel, RJ and Eva as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Services are Monday 10:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ with a 11am funeral mass being offered at Sacred Heart R.C Church, South Amboy. Burial to follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. Donations may be made in Frank’s name to Sacred Heart R.C Church or to The Sayreville BIC.
