Rose Bockus (Lapa)
Rose Bockus, age 93, of Sayreville passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at Venetian Care & Rehabilitation Center, South Amboy. Born in Sayreville she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement 34 years ago she was employed by the borough of Sayreville Water Department as a cashier for 25 years. Mrs. Bockus was a lifelong communicant of Saint Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
Daughter of the late John & Rose Lapa she is also predeceased by her loving husband Thomas A. Bockus in 2012 her sister Edwina Gnacek in 2013 and her brother John P. Lapa Jr. in 2014. Surviving is her devoted daughter, friend and care giver Barbara Bockus with whom she lived, her sister Bernadine Wojcik of Sayreville, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and her great great nieces McKenna, Samantha, Brielle, Hailey and Alexis.
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home 121 Main Street Sayreville followed by a 10am mass at Saint Stanislaus Kostka R. C. Church in Sayreville with burial to follow at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Sayreville.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 4pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in Rose’s name be made to Saint Stanislaus Kostka School Endowment Fund 225 Mac Arthur Avenue, Sayreville, N.J. 08872.
