Joseph Edwin Podbelski, Jr age 68 of Monroe passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Abingdon Care Center in Green Brook Township. Born in New Brunswick he had resided in North Brunswick and Edison for 20 years before moving to Monroe. Before his retirement he was employed as a courier messenger for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for over 30 years.

He is predeceased by his parents Frances and Joseph Sr. and his sister Diane Podbelski. Surviving are his sister Sandra Opalak of VA, his uncle Stanley Karanewski of NY, and many cousins and friends.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4pm to 8pm at the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River with a prayer service at 6:30pm. A private cremation will follow.
