Obituary for Francis G "Sonny" Kolmansperger
Parlin
Francis “Sonny” Kolmansperger, age 78 of Parlin, passed away Sunday October 16, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Durryea PA, he had lived in Parlin for the past 52 years. He was a US Marine Corp and US Air Force veteran. Before his retirement, Sonny worked for United Airline for 39 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Sonny enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time in Atlantic City and Las Vegas.
He is predeceased by his cherished wife Theresa in March of 2015, his grandson Steven Francis Griffin and his sister Rose Kolmansperger.
Surviving are his children Sharon Griffin and her husband Scott of Parlin, Rose Tarantino and her husband Robert of Clark, James Kolmansperger and his fiancé Candice Boehler, his grandchildren Patrick, Scott, Anthony, Andrew, Sara and his sisters Theresa Decker, Dorothy “Cookie’ DePhillips and Bernice Cassidy.
Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with an 11am funeral mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Bristol Meyer Squibb Children’s Hospital 1 Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
