Obituary for Leroy F. Bartz
South Amboy
Leroy F. Bartz, age 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 22, 2017 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Leroy was a lifelong resident of South Amboy, having been born and raised in the Melrose section and was a proud graduate of Sayreville High School. Before his retirement, Mr. Bartz was a Utilities Operator for M.C.U.A. in Sayreville for many years. He was also a veteran of the US Army reserves as well as a communicant of St. Bernadette’s RC Church.
He is predeceased by his parents Harold & Helen Bartz, son Kevin Michael in 1963, and his brothers Harold and Albert.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 57 years, Catherine (Mulcahy) of South Amboy; his loving children John of South Amboy and Diane Marie Cartwright of MN; brothers Charles of TN and Fred of Toms River; and his 2 grandchildren Jonathan and Winston Cartwright, both of MN.
Funeral services will be Friday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with an 9:30am mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church. Burial will follow at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Letters of condolence, directions, and completed arrangements may be found by visiting www.spezzifuneralhome.com.
