Dr. Philip J  Principe
Rahway
Dr. Philip J. Principe, age 56 of Rahway, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017. Born in New Brunswick, he grew up in South River and had lived in Rahway for the past few years. Philip was a physician specializing in infectious disease and critical care, and worked throughout his career for Toms River Community Medical Center in Toms River, Clara Maass Medical Center in Beleville and Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. He was a retired US Navy Commander embedded with the US Marine Expeditionary Group and served during the Iraq War.
He is predeceased by his parents Pacifico “Phil” and Jane Principe.
Surviving are his sister Pam Golgolab and her husband Nader, his brother Paul, his nephews Alex and Cameron Golgolab and Anthony Principe, his companion Nancy Vaccaro, Nancy’s daughter and son in law Melissa & Scott Eisenman, their children Brendan & Erika and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday 10:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave South River, with an 11am funeral mass to follow at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm.
