South River
Karl F. Haider age 83, formally of South River passed away Sunday April 2, 2017 at his home. Born in Brooklyn, New York he had resided in South River for the past 46 years. Before his retirement he was employed as an electrician with ADT in Jersey City. Mr. Haider proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, had formally served on the South River Board of Education for 15 years, was past president of JFK Baseball League in South River and was on the committee for the South River High School Wall of Fame for which he was just honored.

He is predeceased by his wife Dolores Marino Haider in 2013, his parents Karl & Henrietta Haider and his sisters Joan McMahon and Mildred Oliver. Surviving are his children and their spouses Steven & Renee Haider of Monroe, Debra Malgieri and husband Thomas Vasilakos of Monroe and Elena & Jeffrey Stewart of South River, his grandchildren Elizabeth, Matthew, Adam, Bradley, Cori, Chelsea and Abigail and his sisters Betty Scerbo of Jersey City and Margaret Manzo of Long Island, N.Y.

Calling hours at the Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Avenue South River will be held Friday April 7, 2017 from 6pm to 9pm.
